I guess that all depends on how the club views the progress of Stockdale's heir apparent, Walton.
Very good point. Also how much per week will he sign for ?

Isnt Maenpaa also out of contract?
Yes, as he only signed a one year contract last year. I believe it took a while for him to do that, so he may not stay.
Sauce?
You may be right, but I find it hard to believe that we would only offer 1 year to someone who has had an outstanding year for us and would either be a decent Number 1 in the Premier League or even if we found another top keeper, you would want him there as competition / cover.
Maybe I'm naive but one won't find many a better keeper than David Stockdale. Chronically underrated on a national level. He'll get the plaudits he's due in the top flight.
That's odd, as Hughton, Dunk, Knockaert, Goldson and Kayal have all signed new contracts, and Murray's loan had been converted into a 2 1/2 year deal.
But other than those ...
Named in the EFL team of the year last night.

Plenty of very good keepers around if he doesn't sign.
Finding a good keeper isn't as hard as it used to be.
Joe Hart
I'm not disputing that but an 'extra' year comes at a quite significant cost.Just give him 2 years ffs, he deserves it!
