[Albion] Still keeping the faith with Potter?

So perhaps this is just where we are as a club at the moment.

Maybe we don't need someone to blame?

We just keep on keeping on

You could have Aguero up front but when our midfield and wingers or so shit at creating chances even he would struggle to get 10+ in a season for us.

I think we all recognise those that talk the talk but fail to walk the walk. Its platitudes and soundbites and not a lot else. As each winless game goes by, we are still ' playing well ' We have a backroom with little or no pedigree. Different personnel are expected to play the pretty stuff every week. No settled back four and an unchallenged keeper that makes regular mistakes but gets little attention. You can only keep the faith if you fully believe in the first place.

I saw us create some excellent chances against Palace.

The scenario is alarmingly similar to last season in paper but let's be honest we're much stronger than we were a year ago. Last season we were hanging in for grim life for every point we could find. This season we're playing front foot easy on the eye football, just missing the key ingredient, a goalscorer.

Really? With that amount of possession you think there keeper would have been an all action hero to block us out.

..... and with better strikers he would have had to have been. Exactly the point I was making.

I’m wondering whether TB listened to bad advice re. CH.

No...he clearly decided that a change was necessary. We need to know who championed Potter and the basis for that. Low level Scandanavian football and one mid table finish with Swansea was hardly pedigree and was a complete gamble. He talks well....and.....he talks well.....and.....he talks well. That is evidential. He believes in a system of playing that only the very best can effect. He constantly experiments with formation but expects his players to gel seamlessly. On the sliding scale between genius and phoney, he definitely isn't edging towards the top end.

Maybe it would be better to play more basic football, with a more clinical edge. After we lose at Wolves, we will be 5 points worse off than last season, at the corresponding stage. Progress?

Why do we lose at Wolves? This defeatist attitude sickens me. We have a fantastic record against them and we can go there and win. Who would have backed Watford to beat Liverpool? Let alone win 3-0?? Our results have been poor but performances have been decent, one result can turn this around. Surely you can see a massive improvement in what Chrissy boy was serving up?

Admirable sentiments Crodo, alas the bottom line is that we don't have good enough players to match Potter's aspirations.....crucially we just can't score enough goals.

PERFORMANCES DECENT ? :lolol: 1 WIN IN 14 TELLS YOU A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY. Another Potter apologist

The last few games the football has been similar to hughton and we can’t win.

We need to be relegated to have a squad overhaul.

If he doesn’t start well in the champ then we know he is a fraud and would have to be sacked with no hesitation.

Have to say I'm starting to lose the faith.

Teams know how to set up against. Be organised, and wait for the inevitable opportunities we will give up.
Newcastle will do exactly the same ( it's all they've got)

Difficult to see where the next win is going to come from

Well it looks like he’s taken us to a positive place. Still work to be done, but it looks like we’re on course to staying up this season.

- He’s completely changed our style of play, positive, tactical and very inventive at times, capable of dominating games. Which seems a million miles away from Hughtons back to the wall style (CH still a legend of course)

- He’s refreshed our squad. Maupay has been a great signing

- brought through Alzate and Connolly who will only get better

- starting to see the benefit of Ashworths build for the future ethos, Moulumby and Ben White especially looks like an exceptional young player, McAllister looks an exciting prospect

The future looks bright and Graham Potter could be on the verge of helming a very exciting future for our club.

Faith has totally gone in him. The constant tinkering all over the pitch is hardly conducive to building effective partnerships within the team.

Wow! I totally lost faith in the last quarter of last season and I haven‘t lost it once during this season. I am struggling to remember when we have been totally outclassed all game, that happened a lot in the latter part of last season imo.

Agree completely Icy! The only briefly disappointing thing yesterday was the return of the negativity from 2pm with the reappearance of some posters who were very quick to damn him.
None of us know for sure whether we’ll stay up but the football is better overall and like you and many others I’m enjoying the ride. Has anyone EVER guessed his team selection correctly? His subs generally do well and the potential for the club is definitely there. He carries himself very well and speaks honestly and with intelligence. He is building on the hard work of CH and long may it continue.
