[Albion] Still keeping the faith with Potter?

A disappointing performance, frustrating that we let the lead slip (again).

I don't think it is time to lose our heads here. We are and were always going to be in a relegation scrap. One of the reasons the performance was disappointing is that we expect better. The reason we expect better is Potter's style of football.

It will come.

I see it from different view. We have not been at our best in fact nowhere near it for a few games yet we are not getting hammered. We are in games where we're playing poorly and THAT is the big difference. Last season we got bloody hammered a few times when below par. We're having a few dodgy performances that I am sure we will come out of. Shoot me down if we don't but we are a lot better than we've shown lately

I am, but boy is my faith starting to waiver...

Our inability to capitalise on our possession is becoming a regular occurrence, as is our seemingly inevitable 2nd half collapse. We have dropped so many points from winning positions.

That said - I don’t think GP is entirely to blame for this. He’s making the best he can with the squad he was dealt. We have been lacking real quality for a long time now. I thought it’d be a wake up call after nearly going down to invest again. GP needs support, from fans and the board.

That is not exactly true as he has spent £40m some may say badly on Webster for whom he was mugged for an overated defender who cannot defend and Maupay who has scoreda few goals but nowhere near enough from the chances he has had. Last night was crying out for GM to come on with some muscle to upset their defence but noi he brings on a young lad who looked like he's never seen a football. That is down to mistakes by GP nobody else.

Our current malaise can't be laid entirely at Potter's door. The squad has not been markedly improved from that which finished 17tn last season. Our strike force has been diluted with the moving on of Andone and Locadia, and Old Father Time having a square go with Murray. Potter cannot work miracles. We are in a remarkably strong division and, as much as I love our determination to put down solid foundations for the future, it seems the board might have lost sight of the need to strengthen right now.

No one person is to blame if we go down. Life's never that simple. The owner, the manager, the players. Hell, even us for being such a bunch of whining malcontents and not really getting behind the team.
I agree with you that Potter isn't truly to blame in the dip in form . There are many factors. Actually I still think the team is playing well enough to stay up.

The one thing I would disagree with you on is that . If he was the one who sanctioned the "Exits" of both Andone and Locadia at the same time without at least one of them being covered by an experienced replacementthen that's one "Big Call " to have made and one that has left the squad short of numbers in that department

Agree with your point about Murray.

But spending £40m is nothing. It’s absolute pittance in Premier League terms.

I think GP will need several windows to get our squad good enough to compete for mid table. And that’s assuming he keeps us up, keeps the job and gets the backing he needs.

I love Glenn for everything he's done for us, but what on earth have you seen the last few times he has come on that makes you think he would have changed anything. He looks a long way off the pace at the moment and I'm afraid I can't see that really improving.

I think that his physical presence would have helped when we were 2 goals down and not looking like scoring

Gotta Love Graham ,
We havnt had much rub of the green lately ,
not to mention weak refereeing thats cost us too ,
all teams have a sticky patch ,
we just need another striker in the squad , thats all

That's mostly nonsense. We deserve exactly to be where we are. Stop making excuses.
