I sit in the lower west (W1C) and 3 times in the first half a steward went into the crowd, after studying a sheet of paper that had some sort of list on it, and asked someone to go to the concourse with him. I did not see those people reappear. Anyone know what was going on?

Interesting.

Perhaps the club did indeed buy some tickets off the secondary sites...?

If the club bought them then there wouldn't be anyone sitting there to take out.
What if the club were selling the tickets?
Ha you didn't think of that.

It could have been a Catherine Zeta Jones style entrapment, with Barber-out erotically girating his way through a lightshow.

I saw some chap being escorted out of the North stand (east side) no more than 5 minutes into the match. Anyone know what that was all about? Didn't look like a trouble maker.

Not the real one
Some Steward in the East Lower was trying not to let people from outside into the Concourse after the game. I usually go to the east lower for a few beers from the upper as I've got mates down there. He said we had to wait after the game ended for 10 mins before going in the concourse, (it was about 6-7 mins after the whistle). I asked why and he said 'safety', a rather ambiguous statement to say the least. By the time we had got down from the east upper most that were leaving had already gone, I also explained to him that having a group of people congregating outside an exit waiting to go in, is worse than anyone walking into the stand. The other turnstile had no one guarding or taking such a daft measure, so we just walked in. Who comes up with these stupid policies?

I was surprised that the stewards in front of the city fans allowed two city fans to climb over the advertising harding to celebrate their goal.
The stewards were in pairs, 10/15 yard spaces between them and they didnt bat an eyelid.
Isnt this entering the field of play?
