I was starting to be won over by him,but then he showed his true(Palarse) colours and abandoned ship. Therefore he will get plenty of abuse from me.

What a close poll. I'll politely clap him, but only quietly.

We are far too nice to ex-managers, ex-players and the like.

Coming to Brighton was just a job to the balding Scouse nonce, he took our shilling, then ran off as fast as he could.

He has P A L A C E wriiten all the way through him like a stick of Croydon rock.

So its a loud    from me.

I couldn't agree more. I'm sorry I can't be there.
Add a few    on my behalf would you please?

He'll make the decision a lot easier for everybody if he walks to the dugout with his shorts pulled up to his armpits:lolol:

Ignore him and pretend he isn't there like when he was our Manager. Certainly couldn't applaud him. No doubt during the game he will get plenty of stick. Will he sit in the North Stand first half ? Will the North Stand give him stick when he walks along the back of the stand. Extra stewards walking with him ?

I will be giving him stick.

He had a brief spell as Brighton manager, and for that period of time I did applaud him politely. I liked him as a manager and he did a good job for us. If he'd been with us all season we would almost certainly have survived.

But that period is over now, he has once again contacted a nasty case of VD and I will have no hesitation in pointing this out to the fella when he makes his old man shuffle tawrds the bench for the start of the second half.

Surely the ONLY answer to this dilemma is to sing "Mark McGhee's Blue And White Army" and "Pints Of Whisky" frequently and loudly.

That way we back the team, the manager AND piss off Coppell (who, even in his heyday never got such vocal support) without looking like fickle scum fans...

That's a good shout. I agree with every word apart from "scum". That's harsh mate. Fans ARE fickle, I don't think any of us would argue that, it's part of the make-up of most fans. Fiercly loyal to all who play in our colours, but cross us and we will NEVER forget. I still shout at Norman Whiteside - on the rare ocassions he appears on telly - for his challenge on Chris Ramsey back in 1983.

Trouble is, dishing out stick to Steve Coppell just seems so natural, and the whole P-A-L etc song just rolls off the tongue so nicely.

What you say makes perfect sense, but I'd still be surprised if I don't give the guy stick.
