Bollocks. For someone who professes to like Spielberg you know f*** all about him. Did he do the CGI in all the films? What complex issues are dealt with in Indiana Jones? What human condition is explored and dissected in Jurassic Park? Half the films mentioned are triumphs of the production studio rather than direction and the other half are just glorified romps. They are family films where good guys get into scrapes and finally defeat the bad guys. As for Schindler's List - I don't mean to sound trite but it would be nigh on impossible NOT to make a heartwrenching film about the extermination of men, women and children.

Yes it is. It was released to coincide with summer holidays in Europe and the US and Spielberg fought hard to get a PG rating for it. It was also partly directed by George Lucas therefore shouldn't be in this poll.

It is my opinion the poll has been invalidated with a rigged vote for Hook. Anyone who knows anything about films will know this to be the case. It not the end of the World. Time to move on.

In my opinion it's "invalidated" because apart from the Indiana Jones films, Catch Me...,Schindlers List and Saving Private Ryan they're pretty average so they should all not count too

I'm lost. Hook has 20 votes from 131. How is that to the exclusion of all others?

And of course the Indiana Jones films are kids' films. What a daft thing to say.

I voted for Hook on the grounds that it is an interesting metaphor for the troubled relationship between Speilberg and his father and Spielberg's own personal quest for success. Or have I missed something?

Schindler's List is just an obvious story about a bloke and a list.
