I thought Crofts had a good game today. Didn't let them settle. Did the simple things well. Nearly scored.

Agreed, Stephens had an awful first half and we need Crofts playing regularly to get up to speed as both Kayal and Stephens have gone off the boil recently and we need options. Yes please to Sidwell from me.

That should be amended to had a reasonable game to day breaking up play but poor on the ball and should have scored or at least got his shot on target. Sorry Crofts is now past it at this level injuries have caught up with him. Sidwell would be a great signing or as per rumours his team mate Charlie Adams. Kayal got caught in possession a lot today.

Really? There's some on here haven't stopped moaning about it all season! It's stone age football, hoofball and useless, doncha know?!

Ahh but they know so much more than ex- pro players and experienced Championship managers- don't they?

Is he really needed? We had 2 central midfielders starting today, with Crofts and Towell on the bench & Ince and Holla not even featuring. If Sidwell comes in I can see either Ince or Holla heading out the exit door.

Yes, very needed.

Ince, Towell ( and JFC ) are for the future.

Holla, has no future and is gone.

Kayal, Stephens, and Crofts can't play 2 central midfield positions for 90 minutes every match.

Agree with what you said about Crofts, Kayal and Stephens but Ince, Towell and JFC (when he returns) can't be 'the future' without game time. If Sidwell comes in it will push our developing players further down the pecking order which won't help them.

Yes, Ince on loan somewhere in League 1 or 2, and Holla, anywhere that'll take him (no disrespect, he's probably not rubbish, but it just hasn't worked for him here, and from our point of view, as soon as he's off the wage bill the better).

Obviously I am in favour of signing Steve Sidwell as I think his expereince will be a god send in the coming weeks. Yes it will push Ince, who I dont think is good enough, and Crofts who is past his best, down the order but is that a bad thing? I dont think so.

Neither Kayal or Stephens get as many goals as they should (sounds familiar)....if Sidwell can do this then I thing he would be a good addition...someone like Towell's turn will come..but I wouldn't want to rely on him doing the same job as the current pair

Better sack Bobby Z then, or lend him out, and consign all memories of Vicente to the trash bin. Obviously they should never have been allowed near our first team.........

I'm not being miserable. Bobby Z is a notable exception and Vicente didn't 'come back' to us. I was just pissed off when we lost Sidwell as he was such a good player.

My response was to your 'ten years too late' comment - i.e, ten years after their prime. Nothing to do with whether Vicente had played here before or not.........

As for Sidwell, he was here on loan. He didn't walk out on us. We made an offer, but Arsenal turned it down, not Sidwell. Presumably Reading offered Arsenal more than we did or could.

Maybe I remember incorrectly but Arsenal accepted our offer and reading matched it and it was up to the player where he went.
