Just heard that Steve Piper has died aged 64. Very sad and very young. Was part of the glory years team in the 70's.

That's very sad, went to school with Steve and played in the same school team, my condolences to the family. RIP.

Tis sad as I have a wonderful memory of him. He and his wife attended our Jubilee Party at St Luke's Junior School in 1977. We had floats going around the local streets and my Mum, who organised events, made sure I was sitting next to him on one of the floats. I remember bombarding the poor chap with loads of questions. Such a splendid memory.
