Steve Melton has left Hull City to join Boston Utd. He didn't settle in at Hull and they didn't rate him. Personally I'm more than a bit surprised by that as I rather liked him and felt that he wasn't given much of a chance here. WHo can forget that great goal against Reading.

Seeing as he's a Lincolnshire lad I suspect he'll do well at Boston.

i never thought he was a bad player, he just didnt have enough time in the first team to fit in

His bird was very, very fit.

He was quite a good player but Hull fans I spoke to didn't rate him.

It just goes to show that anyone that lives in Southdowns Park, Haywards Heath ends up getting shit and leaving(or moving to a premiership team.)

SNAP HIM UP

Melton is quality - remember that goal he scoed in the 2-1 win v Reading in the Div 2 Championship "six pointer"

I always rated him as a gol scoring midfielder rather like David Platt - always ghosting into space and not picked up by defenders until it was too late. I was very disapoointed when we let him go

Melton got lost in midfield a lot of the time,We need better players than him.

Too injury prone although he looked as good as any of our midfielders on the few occasions I saw him. Classy winning goal in the LDV against Wycombe as well.

I always liked him. I was disappointed when he left.

I'll never forget that Golden goal that he scored against somebody in the LDV or Worthington Cup.

First couple of minutes into extra time - cracking it was.

i honestly cant believe we let him go. and then have the audacity to complain about missing an attacking midfielder!!! he was fantastic in my opinion.

I wish we still had him. I really rated him. Yes sometimes his would get a bit lost in the middle and he looked a lot better when we had three in the middle. Good player.
