I spoke to him only a few weeks ago and I asked him what the future holds, he said he is happy in Brighton and would love to make it a permanent move but it all depends on what both clubs want to do with him.

Much as I would like to see Ward sign for us, I find it strange that players are seemingly about to sign (or have already done so, in one case) without a new manager being in post. Is it a case of someone being lined up for the job and agreeing who will be signed, or is it simply a case of Burke's Law- you'll have who I say and like it!!!!

I suppose in our situation it reaches a stage where those currently at the club have to make a judgement call.

In the same way that we need certainty, you can be sure that players do to. I'm pretty confident other clubs will be offering Ward deals so either we decide to or risk missing out.

I'm sure most of us on here would agree that assuming that's what we've done, it's the right decision. He was great last season.
