I don't believe the O/P is a woman, which rather rules out Stephen Ward's missus.

I'm usually the great sceptic about these things, and it's no more than a gut feeling based on limited information, but I'm minded to trust this poster. Let's see.

anything more than the posters opening comments?

It wasn't based on his comments, although they seem reasonable...I don't want to come across all "I know something you don't", as that really isn't the case. I'm working entirely on a bit of guesswork and a giant leap of logic based on usernames etc.

If he turns out to be a complete charlatan, so be it, I'm a mug :) Or maybe just a bit Fox Mulder

You also have access to his e-mail address. Jules is a chap, certainly. I also am inclined to believe him.

This is the most boring microscopic breakdown of a transfer that was always going to be ok for both clubs but was always going to come down to wages. Since the news it was possible a few weeks ago everyone seems to want to be first to say it's going to happen. This 'done deal' is wishful thinking.
By 11am tomorrow Ward will be our player. 2 yr deal. See? Easy.

a 2yr deal wouldn't be very good business surely?

So if we are meeting wage demands,of say 12k/week,will there be a fee,of an undisclosed nature..

Depends what he's earning. If it's a lot as it sounds like it will be then we won't want to tie ourselves into a long contract I guess?

You might think that; I couldn't possibly comment.

Oh, ok then, I will. No.

There are quite a large number of people with some NSC reputations to maintain (as well as a couple with none [yet?]) who are asserting that the deal is as good as done - I do hope they're right. Ward was, imo, a shoe-in for runner up for player of the year for me last season and seemed like a genuinely good guy on the one occasion I met him. He'd be an excellent signing.

Maybe a .ie email address who knows. Although to say basically there may be someone else come in for him & it could go tits up is a v weird thing to say - almost like giving them-self a safety net in case it does t happen - win/win?

Or, because that's what they've been told by someone at the club perhaps.
