As comedy's being discussed, was anybody else a BAD Albion fan like me and missed last night's action at Withdean in order to catch Stephen K Amos at the Theatre Royal last night? I honestly think he's a genius of stand-up, quite brilliantly funny and deserves to be an even bigger star than he already is. I'm struggling to remember seeing a funnier set of stand-up, I quite LITERALLY dirtied myself throughout proceedings.

A royal favourite.

He mentioned that he'd had some tabloid hacks on his case all day yesterday for letting slip about Prince Harry joking with him on exactly the same terms on race as he uses in his act all the time - terms which, I suspect, make a large section of his audience squirm with hilarious uncomfort, if there is such a word. Such a non-story.

It's the same unsettling tactic as deployed by Richard Pryor in his brilliant heyday; I honestly reckon he's worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as him.

Thought the name sounded a bit familiar. See today's Daily Mirror. Page 7. MOST of Page 7.

How did the support act (local Brighton boy, Seann Walsh) do?

He was great too, he went down very well. Talented and very funny and cool stoner act...if it is an act, it's a very convincing one...a bit like Justin Lee Collins' spliffed up little brother.

Yes, I was there last night. The second time I've seen Stephen K Amos and he was brilliant again. The standout part for me was the first half when he was interactacting with the crowd, he's a true master of taking the piss.
In the second half I'd heard quite a few of the jokes before from when he was at the corn exchange during the comedy festival, although it was still funny. That is my only gripe with him really, he needs a bit more material to be considered great. I also notice how even he decided to swerve the aussie bird when she said they had a stadium called the '****** brown stadium' (during the coon cheese joke)

Seann Walsh was really good as well, probably the best warm up act I've seen.

Yeah, I went. He was good - some of the accents were particularly funny. Thought it was a bit weird that he started off saying it was all just a laugh and not an evening for the serious, then ended up preaching about making the most of this pitiful life etc. The whole feelgood factor side of it sucked a bit actually, seemed like he was trying too hard to please the crowd. But overall one of the best I've seen this year. And there was a woman behind me and my mate who snorted, pig-style, every time she laughed. Bonus.
