Just popped in to this thread to see how you Palace chaps are doing.

2.33am? Blimey VHA - you're keen!

He is in North Carolina but has to wait until the "lifers" have finished on the jail computers.

Yep we're absolutely livid.

The player who scored 3 goals and created numerous assists to help us into the play-offs, culminating in humiliating you in your own back yard, winning at Wembley and earning the club promotion and £120m.

Probably the worst bit of business we've ever done. Brighton well and truly have the bragging rights now.

Very much this.

If this is satisfying your needs to be able to laugh at Palace then our appetite for humour would seem so much larger!

You clearly aren't Palace season ticket holders then, as my mate is and he reckons you've got more money than sense.

Qué? Based on what?

The fact that we won promotion and therefore a windfall that will total (at a minimum) £120 million? Well that's the more money bit taken care of. ... than sense - forked out vast amounts to replace a striker we let go on a free with one that is at best half as good. Oh no that was you.

It's the Zaha effect again. The Premier League money is 60 million rising to 120 million. That is dependant on full houses, sponsorship, selling merchandise etc.
You let Bridcutt go after a trial, we picked him up on a free, & he's now on a long contract & worth a bob or two. I doubt very much if Murray will ever score 30 goals in a season again.

With an understanding of finances as good as that, it's not surprising you've been in admin twice. Also, if we're talking strikers...how did Dindane get on?

Actually the £120m is the flat fee for finishing bottom and parachute payments over four years. It doesn't cover any profit made at the ground, merchandise, or money from extra televised games.

I'm sure your figures are correct, but of course Portsmouth, Charlton, Leeds and Wolves probably had these thoughts as well (albeit on less money).

Winner of the play off final gets nothing as all gate receipts go to the loser since the winner has secured a big pay day. Still a big payday for you lot but like chavs winning the lottery you'll spunk it all on bling and chasing the dream and be back in admin within 3 years.

Except as has been pointed out, you don't get all that, do you? Palace and accounting don't go together.
