Andy Burnham may be the best of a rather dull and uninspiring bunch but he'll have to up his game massively to be competitive as the leader of a party in disarray - his first problem will be convincing people outside the Labour membership that he can be trusted. I've always thought he comes across as being a bit shifty and a bit of a wimp myself!! And will he be able to stand up to the Tory big beasts?? I would imagine they're salivating at the prospect!!!
I like him, don't know why, just do!
To be fair, with the Labour MP's that he has in his party, he really has a big job on, coupled with the policies that were uninspiring, and the ones that did seem ok (although the electorate did not trust that they would be implemented) add the memory of their last stab at governing.......and the job is really made hard due to the parties complete inadequacies.

The perfect man to make mincemeat of the Cameron/Buffoon Boris reign of incompetence and elitist spite over the next five years.
The NHS will be the No1 issue for the British public and there is not a man in Parliament better equipped and with more passion to lead the fight to save Britain's best loved institution.
Andy will sail through the Labour leadership campaign given all the Tony Blair soundalikes will end up acheiving backing from the Tory press but from sod all else.
Best footballer in Parliament too so shitty rags like the Sun are going to have to think up new lines other than too geeky, too nerdy etc

Ive got a goo suggestion. Get Len McCluskey elected at thr next bi election and have him as the leader. He can serve up his class war and socialist policies and the people can decide

Very much doubt there will even be a Labour Party in its current format in 2020.
That's a laugh, the Labour party has not been the "champion of working people" for years, yet they still supported them.

Something along the lines of what happened to the Liberals in the Eighties when they joined forces with the Social Democrats to form the Lib Dems. Labour will have to form an alliance with the SNP at some point if they want to remain a force north and south of the border.

Quite possible gien where they are. Huge danger of disenfranchising lots of english votes but they might be able to pull it off
My assumption is that like last time, the weakest candidate will side with the Unions offering them a load of empty promises. My assumption is that Len McLuskey's candidate of choice will be the same as the tories preference.
No, not 1970's stuff. Of course Labour have championed those who don't have jobs, but they forgot the "working" man. Perhaps by doling out benefits and letting mass immigration was championing those without jobs, then surely one helped the other hindered. Meanwhile the "working" man was forgotton and hindered by the second option.

Apparantly Andy has over 100 MP nominations now - he's even walking it in the only bit of the party the New Labour sellouts have any influence - I think Liz and Tristram still have the key "newspaper proprietor" constituency to be fair
