Chugging up the hill into Bishopstone will be a good photo opportunity.

Its going along the whole of the East Coast line, for the record. Its at Seaford now and is also running tomorrow if your in to steam trains.

Southern actually cancelled 1 or 2 regular services to/from Seaford to allow this to run as well.

Couldn't get near Seaford station so I snapped it with my phone between stations.

Should also add it totally screwed the signalling up at Newhaven, where it is now stuck for the time being.

Is it still going to Brighton so running late, or will it get to Lewes then head for Eastbourne?
I was planning to go to Berwick, have a beer and watch it, but if its running that late, i could be three sheets to the wind by the time it comes past.

Did it come down from London?
One passed us at Herne Hill around 9.30/10.

did the train cause this or just buggered points? more to the point, will this likly be repeated tomorrow or will the issue be solved/workaround in place so its not delayed?

Well there were issues before it came to Seaford, but the points were working, it was the last train to use the line before the points totally failed too, trapping the steam train between Newhaven and Seaford and a Southern train in the old Marine station.

Should still run as planned tomorrow, suspect Network Rail will be on standby though.

Could be a plan to pop over to Hastings? The Lancaster/Spitfire/Hurricane flypast over Hastings about 5pm, then a quick dash over to West St Leonards to grab a shot of the Locomotive on its return to London. Meant to leave Hastings around 5.40 I'm told.

Won't get caught this time - Some time back, I went to Pevensey & Westham to grab a video/picture of a steam tour and the engine was being towed on the back with a diesel on the front. :tantrum: Not this time matey. The steam Loco should be facing the right way at West St Leonards - I think? ???
