It was all our own doing in that first half.
One of out balls is to our full backs or even wingers. For whatever reason Bart didn't try that in the first half. Must have been managers orders. We had loads of room out wide.
For all your well-meant waffle, it was primarily because Bournemouth refused to engage with our dicking-around-at-the-back. They just stood there letting us embarrass ourselvesIt wasn’t working in that first half because of our lack of movement beyond gilmour/dahoud and because our front 4 attacking players were sat isolated so high up the pitch, not because Bournemouth had suddenly cracked the code on how to play us. There was an absolute gargantuan hole in our midfield which meant our quick passing moves couldn’t make it out of the defensive third, or get going at all. As soon as we brought Fati & Mitoma on it meant we had an outlet as they came deeper to collect the ball. Gross would normally also do this. It was like in the first half we had scrapped our usual plan A or B, and gone straight to radical untested plan C. I don’t think Bournemouth are the ones to suddenly figure us out

In part maybe. But it would have been so easy to pass through had we a player sitting deeper than Evan & Welbeck were. We usually have this with Gross or Pedro, but there was such an obvious gap in the midfield. There were simple passes to Centre Backs and even Full backs who were a decent dink away on but Bart whether instructed or unable ignored them and just waited to pass straight down the middle. The floated out pass wide needs the full back to have acres of space. But in @Papa Lazarou's photo, even though it appears Pervis has space, he probably didn't have enough to receive the floated pass.
