Now that Bournemouth have hilariously reduced our defender-rolls-ball-under-foot-until-opposition-engages tactic to tatters, what in your considered opinion would be a plausible Plan B?

Well? ???

It wasn’t working in that first half because of our lack of movement beyond gilmour/dahoud and because our front 4 attacking players were sat isolated so high up the pitch, not because Bournemouth had suddenly cracked the code on how to play us. There was an absolute gargantuan hole in our midfield which meant our quick passing moves couldn’t make it out of the defensive third, or get going at all. As soon as we brought Fati & Mitoma on it meant we had an outlet as they came deeper to collect the ball. Gross would normally also do this. It was like in the first half we had scrapped our usual plan A or B, and gone straight to radical untested plan C. I don’t think Bournemouth are the ones to suddenly figure us out 😅 It was all our own doing in that first half.

I'm pretty sure the normal plan B in those situations, is a little chip pass to Estupinan.

I don't think it was the BMuff statues tactic that worked, just no one was on it enough, to help the keeper out, in the first half
One of out balls is to our full backs or even wingers. For whatever reason Bart didn't try that in the first half. Must have been managers orders. We had loads of room out wide.

Too many balls to Ferguson who tried to touch & turn but lost it every time. Not once did he hold up the ball to layoff to midfielders, he was completely bossed by their number 27.

For all your well-meant waffle, it was primarily because Bournemouth refused to engage with our dicking-around-at-the-back. They just stood there letting us embarrass ourselves :lolol:

This and the floated pass out wide which Bart didn't use, both of which can give us very effective possession in the middle third.

Thought it was a thread by right wing loonies demanding we stop pulling down slave traders statues. As is, plan A will be fine most games and go long for plan B.

In part maybe. But it would have been so easy to pass through had we a player sitting deeper than Evan & Welbeck were. We usually have this with Gross or Pedro, but there was such an obvious gap in the midfield. It was tweaked second half & the passing moves could flow.

There were simple passes to Centre Backs and even Full backs who were a decent dink away on but Bart whether instructed or unable ignored them and just waited to pass straight down the middle. Again and again. It was weird.

The floated out pass wide needs the full back to have acres of space. But in @Papa Lazarou's photo, even though it appears Pervis has space, he probably didn't have enough to receive the floated pass.

Bart's ball was to either of the centre-backs, who passed to the other centre-back who then should have sent it wide IMO.
