STATISTICALLY is Smith the worst Albion goalkeeper ever

It ain't 'And Smith must Save's' fault - it's just that he lets in more than twice as many goals per match as Kuipers does, playing behind the same defence! Get real - he's just one of the many mistakes we've made in the transfer market.
There hasn't been a really good Scottish goalkeeper in the last thirty years, and in Smith we haven't mraculously unearthed the next one; he's not as good as Sullivan - or Kuipers. Send him back in January, please.

What has "there hasn't been a really good Scottish goalkeeper in the last thirty years" got to do with us? If there was one, do you think he'd be joining us? Get real - we're a struggling team in the third tier. I'd be quite happy to have a reasonable keeper and I don't care where he comes from.

It's patently obvious that Smith isn't to blame - the defence has been appalling this season. Kuipers' best days are probably behind him and you could also criticise him for not spreading confidence just like you have with Smith.

One day, Kuipers fan club have to realise that one day he will retire and/or leave the club. New keepers have to be given a bit more of fair crack of the whip. Save your ire at the moment for those players who haven't given everything this season and let Slade and the fans down.

Oh, and how many really good keepers has England produced in the last 20 years? Seaman and ....?

In two of the 4 games we played much of the match with 10 men and one of the others we ended up with 9? Are we blaming the wrong man here?

Seaman was probably the best, yes, but I can easily real off a list of others that have all been a lot better than anything Scotland has produced.

If you're shopping for a goalkeeper, then Scotland just isn't the best place to look. Just face facts.

And yes, of course Kuipers will have to be replaced one day - probably not too far in the distant future - but hopefully by someone at least as good, if not better. Whoever that is, we haven't got him.
