Id rather we be away opening day, as theres always a game the tuesday after which would be an away game if we were at home on the first day of the season.

Manchester United are playing peterbough on the 4th of august so the season must start the following week, also if worthing is the typical curtian rasier then that would mean we would have 4 weeks pre-season which seems about right

These are our first games of the season since 1999. All of them were away from home.

2000 = Southend United L 0-2
2001 = Cambridge United D 0-0
2002 = Burnley W 3-1
2003 = Oldham Athletic W 2-0
2004 = Reading L 2-3
2005 = Derby County D 1-1
2006 = Rotherham United W 1-0

The record's not bad.

I think you'll find we beat Oldham 3-1

Yeah, you're right, we did win 3-1. I was there. A certain Leon Knight scored (possibly 2) on his debut if I remember correctly. Also a penalty From Darius Henderson. We wore our yellow kit for the first time.

I seem to recall henderson and knight both wanted to take the penalty but hendo took it too put us 1-0 up. knight did score the other 2 and if he had been allowed to take the penaltyy he would have had a hat-trick on hes debut!

Cheers.
So we could actually start the season with a home game for the first time since Aug 1999 presumably?
I think it's only the gay pride thing that usually stops this and that's normally the first Saturday in August.
I would happily have the first game at home and the next 45 away if it meant getting rid of gay pride
