Sunak won that for me. Starmer " my father was a toolmaker " Classic stuff, laughs and giggles which he did not get, lol

Nor Labour, SNP.
The Tories have escaped proper scrutiny during the past 14 (probably 17) years. It's only in the last couple of years that they've really being forensically examined and had a more hostile approach to their time in office. This is in part to do with the control that the press exerts within the media. It's Sunak that has had this accumulated ire turned on him and has handled it pretty well, but looks pretty broken now. I don't feel sorry for him.

What do we think? I felt like Sunak did not come out well against the interviewer, but used the “timeshare” tactic to great effect against the public’s questions. For those who saw all of it, was there a clear winner?

After all that tonight, I wish everyone the very best for the next 10 years.
I think we'll need it.

Serious question, and I admire you sticking to your guns so I’m not sticking the boot in here, but do you not think even as a staunch right winger there is a place in politics for nuance and balance?

Conservatives are supposed to be the “kings of compromise”.

You are acting like a paid Tory shill, even though you aren’t.

How the hell can Beth ask starmer about his personal tax and whether he is happy to pay more, then not address Rishi who earns millions in the last year and paid 22% tax! So frustrating he’s not held to account on this shit.

We can start addressing the shortfalls by people like him paying what he should, 45% tax!

Also didn’t question him on lying about the £2000 figure at the last debate!

Never voted Tory in my life, never will.

Still a member of the Young Socialists I believe.

Starmer is NOT the answer, alongside Sunak.

Surely, if you are the current government, all you can realistically pledge is "more of the same for us" as a logical argument.

If you are the current government, and have to pledge radical changes....then by default you are either admitting you have it wrong or that you haven't done enough.

"We will get the NHS working". You've been in charge 14 years.

Starmer the clear winner for me tonight.

As an aside, when it started, Mrs B (a staunch Tory hater) said: "Starmer looks like Max Headroom". She's right, you know...

For me (perhaps presciently) he looks more and more like Jim Hacker (Paul Eddington) from Yes Prime Minister.

We have certainly reached the 'we need change, whatever the quality' stage.
All I read is Tories OUT at any cost, not an overwhelming love for the Toolmaker's son.
Not a great start
