I think the countries of Europe and other like minded nations, should form one giant armed force and smash Putin and Russia's armed forces to bits.
Total it, so it cannot be reformed, threat gone and message received by China etc.
F*** the USA, they can do one.
Trump wants USA isolation so bad, let him have it, a communist in businessman's clothing.

The combined regular forces of Europe would likely still get smashed by Russia

Whatever your political beliefs or opinions it has to be said he's acting like a leader at the moment which is a relief. It's the only way. Leave the rhetoric and anger to us keyboard warriors and the commentators. Very impressive. And before anyone calls me biased, even though I disagree with his policies I would have entrusted Sunak to do the same. Can you imagine bloody Truss or Johnson in this situation?

I can say this, as I'm a Labour member and think he's a good sort:

He has achieved nothing yet.

That said, he's having a go, without being a dick, and doing it for the right reasons
(I seem to recall Johnson flying to Ukraine for a hard hat photo-opportunity, then vanishing).

Let's hope he can do a bit of good.
That's all one can do on the global stage as UK PM, and all we British plebs can hope for in that context.

I hope we never need to see this but I disagree.
If Ukraine can hold out for 3 years then a combined Europe force would smash the Russian forces.
This is an interesting point.

Either we can smash Russia as you say,
or the Brits and the EU have demilitarized so much in a glassy-eyed post glasnost miasma, we are f***ed, as others are saying.

Only one of these can be true
I have no idea which

Not in a good way, no

In defence of Johnson, about the only thing he did well he was team Ukraine from day one, from memory we were the first to give money and aid whilst large parts of Europe sat on their hands.....

Did he?
Like Biden, but quicker off the blocks, then?

I am of an increasing mind that without negotiation with Russia, all the west has succeeded in doing is giving their weaponry a good field test.
We stuck with various stipulations about 'you must not use our weapons on Russian soil' when we passed them on to Ukraine.
So it has all been a waste of time.
Perpetuation of a 'meat grinder', as one (right wing US) commentator put it recently.

So if you consider we might defend Johnson on this occasion, one might easily consider arguing a defense of . . . .
Trump, if it it transpires he does manage to 'negotiate' an end to it all.
It will all depend on the outcome of course, and it is, as yet, unclear what that will be.

(For the record I detest Trump and Johnson, so I am disinclined to give either credit for anything,
but one cannot argue with facts)

Harry, if you are into books - I thoroughly recommend Get In … Starmer insight by 2 Times journalists. If you have the time or inclination, give it a read and give me a shout on here when you have, I would be interested in your opinions.
