I've come back home.
so where did he build his fortune from?

The abridged version - He started in the city, from which he started buying property, he was hot on statistical analysis, got into betting companies, went to Asia and became one of the world's best experts on Asian long odds betting. Got picked up by Victor Chandler and ran their division on it, convinced Victor to bet all their world cup profits of France winning; they did and everyone was very happy. He leaves and set up two online betting companies, sold those and all while building a property portfolio across UK, South Africa and Asia including hotels and resorts. He then builds blue/star lizard (minimum bet from its clients is £1m).

Are his gee gees profitable or is that another labour of love like the Albion? They seem to do alright. Can't remember the horses name now but his 16/1 winner at Cheltenham last year rescued my festival and paid for a very nice bottle of wine.

yes im aware of the story, however after selling the online betting for 60m its all rather unverified and heresay. so when some say he didn't build his fortune from one avenue, i'd have thought they have more information on alternative source.

At first I thought that the answer would possibly be a conflict of interest issue but then I remembered that Peter Coates owns Stoke City and Bet365, so now I'm not quite sure.

Apparently the FA has unpublished rules about such things. I found this article which possibly sheds a little light on the matter but ultimately you still have to fill in the gaps yourself.

I was told by the head of catering in the first year at the Amex, they didn't get a bookies because of a conflict of interest and Ladbrokes wanted Brighton to pay them to have shops on site , £100k if I remember correctly, and Tony wouldn't do that.

I'm not sure what else you're looking for. He has historical and current valid sources of income. Whilst we don't have a signed statement from him on his accounts it's not exactly heresay.

Penhill?

Doubt his horses are profitable with prize money, but I expect he is profitable from punting on them.
