.. didn't have a choice today.

We had seats on the back row in the bottom tier. Something very odd about those seats in comparison to the others.

1) I struggled to sit down without my knees bending the seat in front. I'm quite tall though....

.. 5 foot 7

2) They are so tight you there isn't enough room to walk past people to get out, you had to climb out of the seats backwards onto the concourse. :D

The stewards seem well aware of it. I'm amazed you are actually allowed to put seats like that in a stadium.

I must have been behind you as I was in the front row of the upper tier, slightly more legroom than you guys below me though. At least you know where to avoid next time!

I was in the upper tier near the front and in the first half the stewards made us sit down pretty much all the time, but I have to say they were pretty reasonable about it so I didn't mind complying. Second half they gave in and left us to stand. Quite possibly the nicest stewards I have encountered all season, maybe common sense and an orange uniform are not incompatible after all.

Have to agree with that. We were on the front row of the upper tier but over at the far left so we were near the Leeds fans. The stewards were quite humorous and having laughs with us. I think they were Bradford fans. ;)

Way out west
Didn't make it up there yesterday but did go to the game a couple of seasons back, there was a steward at the exit when we left thanking people for coming to the game and wishing us a safe journey home, so I think there may be something in their stewards behaving decently towards away fans.

If you want poor seating try Rotherham, it was almost physically impossible for me to sit in my seat and I am not much over 6ft, heaven knows how anyone taller would have managed.

Im about 6ft 6 and Rotherham was horrible. That said I spent most of the time stading so it didn't make much difference.

One of the stewards was doing the same yesterday. Much as I dislike Leeds their stewards seem to have a more grown up attitude than at Withdean.
