No, just sit down if you secretly love Palace . I don't stand much at all but genetics always make me respond to that chant.

It's ok when we're playing palace but seems a bit pointless when we're playing Hull City.

Absolutely this.

If people want to continually re-affirm their dislike/hatred of Palace at every game, would it not be better for them to go to Selhurst Park each week to make their point...?

Why can't songs be sung about the team/players/manager rather than other teams and which stand you are in?? Yes some will say it creates a good atmosphere, but I have no doubt the same could be done for songs which are relevant to the team and players.

I'm with you on this. Time we stopped obsessing about Palace and got behind the team. Having said that, we mainly seem to sing it when things are a bit dull on the pitch.

Must admit, couldn't be bothered to stand up to this one yesterday. They beat us fair and square and in Mr Murray have a gentleman of the highest order.

The reason it's sung so often is nothing to do with hatred of Palace - basically, every time people in the North Stand are told to sit down, they sing this.

Well if you are trying to make a point change the chant to something more appropriate. I agree it is a pointless and futile chant at other games - just a waste of time and energy. Neither the players or the opposing supporters could care less.

I'm not trying to make any point whatsoever, I'm just saying why it happens.

Personally, when I go to games I sit in the West and prefer to sit down anyway.

I think it's ok as something for the first 5 mins - important to reaffirm it each week to anyone who may have been in doubt plus we've got a generation in the stands who know more about rivalry with Orient and possibly Reading so good for them to belt it out and continue the indoctrination.

Also, the We're the North Stand/We're the West Stand song - I always though that was one for when the game had gone a bit quiet - maybe during an injury or something? Not that there are rules to these things and it is v loud.

Finally, would be good when we go 1-0 up etc for the West to start: "North Stand whta's the score, North Stand North Stand what's the score?" and for the appropriate "1-0 to the Albion" to be roared back....

I remember doing this when I was about 9 years old in the first season at Withdean. Why should it be stopped? I heard it loud and clear on the radio and it sounded brilliant. We hate Palace. They are our rivals. Why not express our hatred for them? If we keep trying to pick and choose when songs should/shouldn't be sung, all it will do is endanger any kind of atmosphere at the Amex.

Can whoever starts it change it to 'Gus Poyet's blue and white army' next time please.
