I've just found my old stamp album (Royal Mail Album.. 192 Pages.. approx 900 stamps) I started collecting in1950 for about 10 years, then forgot about it until now. Any advice of how to find a buyer locally. No idea of it's value

Does anybody actually collect stamps any more? Maybe there's still a soecialist nice market, but as a popular hobby in the community at large? When I was a kid you were almost guaranteed to get a stamp album for Christmas at some time or other, bought a sixpenny packet of mixed stamps from Woolies and pored over the Stanley Gibbons catalogue (in the library, unless the uncle or aunt who thought you ought to take up stanp collecting in the first place came up with one for the next Christmas!) to see of you'd scooped a valuable one (you never had!)

These days though? - kids hardly ever even see a stamp - I know that a good 90% of my mail comes franked; no stamp.

There is a stamp shop on the right hand side of queens road Brighton as you come out of the station.

Some people must do. There's a few small island states and territories for who sales of postage stamps are a significant part of their economy.

E.g Tristan Da Cunha. Population of less than 300 has no postal service but a busy post office sending stamps to collectors around the world.

They do. It is a still a multi-million pound revenue stream for Royal Mail. New collectible stamp issues, and associated collectible products, are released every month. Recent topics for stamp issues have been the Windrush Anniversary and X-Men.

I was slightly involved in the first-day cover of bridges in 2015, as one of them is maintained by us and they wanted some history about it. They sent me 2 sets and some cards. A little disappointed to find you can buy them online for under a tenner. So, unless it's something rare, the OP may not be lucky. I've also got my Dad's old stamp album that I tried valuing - but even his Penny Black was only worth £50 at best.

Don't get your hopes up. Unless you collected particularly rare stamps, you're unlikely to have anything of interest.

My childhood stamp collection was basically worthless when I decided it had outlived it's welcome and had made it's last house move with me.
