Fire crews were called to the Old Ship hotel on Brighton seafront this morning after fire alarms were set off.
Guests including members of Stafford Rangers football club who are in the city to play the albion today were seen in blankets on the promenade shortly after the alarm was sounded at 3am.
Fire crews checked the hotel and gave the all clear shortly after they had arrived.
Hotel manager Mr Huckleberry Finn (dressed in albion coloured pyjamas)said that new alarms had been fitted recently and they may have been more sensitive than usual.
