Goldstone apart, which one was your favourite?

I hadn’t realised just how many clubs have built new grounds over the years and there are plenty of old ones I never went to.

The Goldstone
The Dell
Filbert Street
Plough Lane
White Hart Lane
Highbury - should be my favourite because of THAT game but it’s not
The Den, Cold Blow Lane (the most apt address in the football league for me!)
The Vetch Field
The Victoria Ground
Elm Park

My favourite was the Baseball Ground. No rational explanation as I’ve only been there once and we lost in a Cup game on a midweek evening. Maybe it was because it was the first time I had mushy peas with my fish and chips. The atmosphere that night was something special too. Proper old fashioned stadium right in the middle of a residential area.

Good thread. Having done lots of aways in the 80s and 90s the ones I can remember are:

Upton Park
Boothferry Park
Filbert St
Millmoor
Victoria Ground
Sealand Road (Chester)
Roker Park
Gay Meadow
Cold Blow Lane
Feethams (Darlo)

Some dodgy as **** places on that list but terracing and cheap. No membership points in those days.

Worst was Roker Park standing on an open terrace while a storm blew in off the North Sea and we lost to an offside goal. Thank God I was lubricated :drink:

Best was Darlo. 500 odd packed on to a covered terrace in the Mickey Adams part one days, atmosphere, a win and cheap, cheap booze :drink:

Millmoor was decent too for some truly grotty pubs, a lap round the away end when Codner got our winner and a starring role by Brighton Lines :salute:

On NSC for over two decades...
Goldstone
Wembley
Fellows Park
Victoria Ground
Boleyn Ground
White Hart Lane

From that lot probably Wembley sticks in the mind, mainly for the noise that hit me as we entered the top tier of the stadium... And the overwhelming disappointment of the day.

Sure I’ve missed one or two and there are others I’ve been to for a game but not seen the Albion play

Apart from the Goldstone - Baseball Ground and Boothferry Park for me - 2 Grounds that formed a huge part of my childhood and teenage years (BF is a hull fan) and I feel really sad thinking about them. Maybe it's the romantic in me but I don't believe it's possible to love a new stadium in the same way. Football was a different experience then, the idea that eating of drinking at the ground was quite alien, 'comfort' was a fabric conditioner, atmosphere was an organic, fantastic thing.

Obv the OP is entirely correct that the BBG was the best - Derby were largely rubbish during my teenage years but it didn't really matter, it was the day out.... Strangely enough, I vividly remember us thumping Brighton in '86, less so being thumped by you in '84 :)

Manor Ground, yet another one I’d forgotten. Pretty sure we won there with a Gotsmanov goal but it was a long long time ago!

My first game away from the Goldstone was Oxford Utd at Headington. It was the sixties and I was young. Most vivid memory is Ron Atkinson playing centre half for them.
