Am I right in thinking that experts predicted that the cost could reach $140bn? Plenty of money for FIFA to tap into.

Aren't they supposed to be sending many of the stadia to less developed countries once the tournament has finished?

I thought the majority of these were to be taken down afterwards and transported to Africa, or did I read it incorrectly

Bollocks to it.

It's about as far removed from the ethos of the game as it's possible to be.

Wanky rich man oil stadia built by cheap Indian labour in an absolute and authoritarian monarchy state with no democratic elections.

I hope they're all air conditioned or else the supporters and players will LITERALLY boil to death.

Correct, that was part of their pitch when they blatantly bought this World Cup tournament. But with 40 degree heat (even if it will be airconditioned in the stadia) day and night and NO ALCOHOL, do you really think they will fill any of them?
Total farce, to me it's just indicative of how money is ruining football nowadays (no offense Mr Bloom, you of course are excluded from this comment entirely). I keep thinking I'm over this but then every time I hear about f***ing Qatar I get all worked up again.
