Was this a regular thing ? It’s pretty rare until the last decade for Albion to have a pre season camp abroad and it’s only once or twice I think - and that was years ago ( Spain in about 2015 ? ) that fans attended the matches at end of the camp which are normally behind closed doors. Club of course hosts plenty of pre season friendlies home/away with fans though at least in Covid free times. . Rangers, Luton and Getafe last year for example.

I went three years in a row, to Portugal twice and then to Spain. The team went to Villamura in Portugal, playing in Albufeira twice against. Spurs 11, PSG, Sunderland and a couple of Portuguese teams (I missed the abandoned game where it turned into a giant bundle) but went to Olhao (Sp).
The following year the team flew to Gibraltar, stayed in Jerez, played Gibraltar and Pompey, then a Spanish team in Marbella.

The club have been poor at releasing pre season tour info for a while now.

Other clubs seem to be able to announce pre season games way earlier. Every season.

Oh well. They'll have their reasons.

However, the absolute void of zero information will always encourage false rumour.

Wasn’t this confirmed as false several pages and weeks ago ? I’m surprised it’s appeared on the front page of the board again. Beginning to resemble the striker rumour threads.

It appeared today because a Reims fan Twitter account posted details about their so called friendly matches (details on post #54) many people thought it was genuine including Andy Naylor.

Several weeks ago it was a rumour, I didn’t see anything about it being confirmed as false back then.

Confirmed as false in the sense that there was no official source for it being true. I don’t think the Albion are going to officially deny everything made up by kids on Twitter.

More likely to be Luton, Aldershot or Crawley

The Argus even had an “article” about this today; based on that fake news tweet. Think that’s why the club confirmed it is false today to stop fans mistakenly booking travel and accommodation.

Using the word article generously as it was just a stub repeating the tweet and talking about Garcia connection.
