Halloween is another entity that has been stolen by the yanks and sold back to us in a different form.

The Southern Irish did everything they could to help Nazi Germany by offering them safe haven and an easier opportunity to attack American shipping in the Atlantic.

I don't where you got this from but Ireland was neutral in the 2nd World War, refusing request from both Allied and Axis forces to use Irish ports as military bases. However, while officially neutral, the Irish government supplied much assistance to the UK, as set out by British politician Viscount Cranbourne. His report detailed the level of practical help given by the Irish - there's a good explanation of it here.

It should also be noted that nearly 50,000 Irishmen volunteered to fight in the Allied armed forces, no attempt was made to stop them going. There were some volunteers for Axis forces too but only small numbers.

And far from offering safe haven, the Irish immediately arrested any crashed German pilots and spies. DeValera was no friend of the British (and did blot his copybook by sending his condolences to the German government after Hitler's death) but he was no friend to Germany either and knew that Irish interests were best served by an Allied victory

Although with trick or treating halloween is the one holiday that one is pressured to participate in against their will. Although of course i don't!! (think your american friend and his name tag).

Much prefer to wait myself and celebrate the blowing up of parliament (nearly)
