OK, so theres this walk on Sunday, I'm told its 13 miles

Chap at work has rasied a couple of hundred quid for the charity but now cant do it for good reason

No one can step in, and I'm getting banter for me to do it but I've never walked 13m

I guess it would take around 4 hours?

Would one require training for this (I guess its effectively walking a half marathon), I looked on google and theres all this stuff about walk x miles this week blah blah training and I dont have great footwear

I drink a fair bit, smoke a fair bit, but do (did till last week) walk to work and back prob 3 or 4 miles a day with no bother.

Um, should I give it a go? I kinda cant really be bothered as dont know if I'd enjoy it/complete it, but dont wanna see this money go to waste. I just cant really envisage how far 13 miles actually is

Its Hove cricket ground to Saltdean and back I believe

Do it. 13 miles isn' that far, if you walk 4 miles a day then I'm sure that's more than a lot of people will have done. And it's all for a good cause, innit?

yeah I saw Trigger is doing it.

Is there a bus/any good pubs enroute? :)

I might just go for it I've got half hour to decide. I guess i should try to not go out on Saturday and eat some pasta and chicken and bananas or something. Really really want to go for it but like I said never walked that far (well not since I was say 14) and havent got any decent shoes, are there any big hills or anything do you know on the way to Saltdean?

me and 2 mates are doing this. I have walked that far before and the best advice is get the right clothes and take a back pack of things like lucozade, nuts, sweets and fruit. It isn't that bad, especailly if you have folks to talk to. enjoy!

Do it, only 6.5 miles to Saltdean, quick drink, P break, then back back to Hove. You can join us at the back if you like.
