I recorded the documentary and watched it on Saturday. Am a massive Squeeze fan and very much enjoyed it. On Sunday, popped in to Homebase in Lewes only to walk past Chris Difford....one of those surreal moments when you can`t actually think of anything to say (and he looked dead miserable !).

There was a BBC Four acoustic thing with him a couple of years back, Justin Currie and another songster, on stage in a little bar. I like Currie a LOT too, and one of his songs put Chris Difford in tears; very moving to see. He explained it was about a relationship he was getting over, but boy he's had his fair share of emotional ups and downs, poor fella.

Have moved on to Reverend and The Makers and Fountains of Wayne for my witty lyrics and catchy choones now.

Gosh I remember the Revs, are they still going? I have the Wayne's 'Welcome Interstate Managers' album - really good, kind of what They Might Be Giants should have been before they went even more bonkers.

Good documentary as usual, great band. But why is nobody mentioning the elephant in the room?

What on EARTH was that on Glen Tilbrook's face? I don't mind admitting, it frightened me a little, but then I was never a fan of catweasel.

was this the concert where they supported THE TUBES,if so can you remember the year. i did go to this concert, im sure it was early eighties

Could be as I remember seeing The Tubes too so maybe Squeeze were support as Centre probably too big for them to be headlining back then.

I seem to remember a starkers girl as part of the act (Tubes) Pics anyone?

Rev and The Makers play The Concorde on Tuesday 23rd Oct so indeed they are still going. I believe they are pushing their 3rd album. They Might be Giants are fantastic too... Istanbul- Constantinople ....

Quality songwriters, and Tillbrook could knock out a tight melodic guitar solo too (Pulling Mussels From A Shell was one of my favourites). Really enjoyed the documentary and have always felt they never had the recognition they deserved. Saw Difford in Worthing at the now regular acoustic showcase nights at the St Paul's Centre, and it was a decent night (although have to say Chris Helme of The Seahorses knocked spots off him in the vocals department).

Anybody remember them at the Top Rank, bottom of the bill below Radio Stars and Eddie and the Hot Rods? 1978 maybe?
