Apparantly this year's final was on a couple of days ago.

I can't say I even noticed. What a pointless competition it has become.

I watched some of it on Wednesday, the only interesting thing was that Porto have a player known as Hulk.

No, but I think due to the fair play spot Tottingham have qualified in any case. However were they to finish 6th they would have to play their first qualifier at the end of June, whereas if they finish 5th they wouldn't play in it until mid-August.

I didn't realise 6th place qualified, thougn Fulham had the fair play slot ???

It was played in Dublin which is an interesting venue, if only for that comedy end with about 5 rows of seats.

Mind you, even that won't have been interesting to Portugese clubs as Braga play their games in a stadium with no spectators at one end, owing to the stadium being built in a quarry.

Wolves are not going to lose, or draw - they just aren't. They'll want a 3goal margin over Blackburn too, for goal difference reasons.
I'll predict 4-0 to Wolves, with a couple of dismissals there.
So that's very dodgy for Blackburn.

I'm not sure about Brum getting a point at Spurs (and TH need to win), and Wigan perhaps winning at Stoke.

Blackpool....now that is going to be some match at Manu, and I hope it's NOT decided by a refereeing decision..
Strange things happen on last days - and in some ways, this case, I would actually think it strange if Blackpool didn't get at least a point.
Holloway rules as a personality, and the things he stands up for would probably have many people's sympathy actually... maybe even Ferguson.
I'd stick my neck out and go for an amazing away win.... but that's my heart ruling my head, in truth.

Wham, Brum (on goal diff) and Bburn to go down would be a possibility I suppose, though Blackpool would be a rather pleasant away fixture for us.

i really hope united beat blackpool 1-0 so that they cant get done under the stupid understrength team ruling, and that blackpool manage to survive on goal difference

I think Tottingham are now ahead of Fulham in the fair play table so if they don't get 5th they will get the fair play slot.

Maybe I'm being a little too optimistic about how good we'll be next year, but I'm looking at the five and thinking "Who would we stand a fair chance of finishing above next year?"

I can't help but think that, for the Albion, Wigan & Blackpool would be the best two to come down. Charlie Adam will leave Blackpool and what else will they have? Wigan I can see descending down the league, and I can't say that I'd particularly care if they did. Wolves & Blackburn on the other hand, would both be fighting for the title so I'd rather they stay exactly where they are...

Next season will be a very very hard season and will be really hard to stay up but with the right players and manager which we have we can finish mid-table and anything more then that is a BONUS.

Bah! If we're not pushing for the play-offs by January then I'll throw my season ticket at Gus and never return! :jester:

Being serious though, I genuinely don't think we'll have any relegation fears at all - I can't see any reason why we'd be any lower than comfortable mid-table. If Norwich can go straight up again, and Leeds & Millwall can go up and both push for the playoffs, then why should be find ourselves hovering around 20th?

If Wolves win though then goal difference will be irrelevant to them. A 1-0 win sees them safe and above Blackburn.

That said - i think Blackburn will beat Wolves, and Wolves could be the 'surprise' team to drop. Wigan to join them.

i think it will be Wigan and Blackpool

A lot of people seem to think that Wigan will survive but i reckon Pulis will want to put on a good performance infront of the Stoke fans to cap off a great season for them again!

Stoke 2-1 Wigan
Tottenham 3-1 Birmingham
Wolves 1-1 Blackburn
Man Utd 3-1 Blackpool

What's everyones thoughts on who will drop from the EPL on Sunday, surely one of the most dramatic days in EPL history awaits and for those of you who aren't interested it of course has a bearing as we will be playing two of these sides next season.

For my money I think Wigan and Blackpool will be relegated.

Less an hour to go before the crunch time

Forecasts:

Man U 1 Blackpool 0
Stoke 0 Wigan 0
Spurs 1 Birmingham 1
Wolves 1 Blackburn 1

which I think sends Blackpool and Wigan down with West Ham

but it will go to the wire to the last minute between Wigan or Birmingham?

Wolves v Blackburn is a banker draw and could be worth a bet. 21/10.
