That is absolutely ridiculous, for one person to be saying it is stupid enough but for you to then post it is absolutely ridiculous. You've been a member since 2003 and don't post all that much - why post such a nonsense allegation?! Strange behaviour.

Friend very high up with the construction company told me, I passed it on. If you can disprove it be my guest, just thought in what is an entirely speculative thread (the name's a give away "Spurs new stadium - will it be ready" - we're all guessing here) it was worth mentioning something relevant that I had heard from an extremely good source.

Which reminds me - I was at the San Francisco Giants last week and amongst the absolutely ridiculous array of concourse food and drink options was a Vintage Wine Bar.

I didn't indulge - I stuck to beer - but plenty of others seemed to be. I'd LOVE to be able to head to my Amex seat with a carafe of vintage wine for me to savour whilst watching the game.

It would be interesting to see what the Liquidated Damages are per day. It remains to be seen how the responsibility for the delay is apportioned between Spurs and Mace, but it's certainly not good PR for Mace on such a high profile project

Actually, that suggests he doesn't know and he's blaming everyone from their own consultants to the contractor. If the wiring has been a significant element in the delay through failure and large scale rewiring and testing, then the design maybe in question, the subcontractor and/or the main contractor may or may not be culpable. Could be the case the main contractor has legitimate claims for an extension of time and costs if the delays are not directly attributable to them, which would be the case if it was a design failure, hence Levy saying 'our project managers' and 'contractors'. If Spurs have their own specialist contractors appointed to the works and they have cocked up, then again may not be the main contractor's responsibility. Might be that Levy and his team have made so many design changes through the course of construction, they've caused many delays too. It will be fun unravelling this one I expect for the legal teams.

MACE have got a construction manager role I believe. Would have thought they would just push liability for delays onto sub-contractors.

It would be interesting if it proved to be the case that some of the sub-contractors happened to have been selected by Levy personally and may not have been up to the job? That God no-one has suggested that might have happened.

To his car parking space. That was my criticism of the ridiculous rubbish you posted. The changes to other, important, features and designs of the stadium are well documented. I have no doubt that Levy is responsible for a lot of the shambles which has taken place with the delays, but I am quite confident that none of it has anything to do with re-designing his own parking space to keep it clear of piping, etc.

I have no more idea than anyone else what has specifically caused this epic delay, whether its Levy meddling round the edges or whatever. But given the sheer size of the build, and the complex nature of it (hydraulic pitch, touchlines rising and falling x6ft, cheeserooms etc), the timescale they put on it looked pretty ambitious from about a year ago. Just comparing it to where the Amex was 6 months away from opening day, you could see it looked a long way off.

Rather than raising hopes, selling tickets, pencilling in NFL games etc, surely the sensible thing would have been to factor in 2 years at Wembley from the outset. Instead they've gone for the rush job, pissed a load of people off, and probably incurred untold additional expense for the clusterfvck it has now developed into.

Like Spurs they had issues with the council compulsory purchases. Although had planning permission over 4 years ago.

Some light at the end of the Spurs tunnel at last - FIFA19 comes out at the end of this month. So Spurs fans will be able to see a game in the completed version of their stadium, months in advance of it being finished. Good old EA.

More to do with delays caused by the developer for the whole project (Ecoworld) ... least Brentford taken an early decision rather than it turn into the shambles at Spurs
