No one knows the path that Omicron is going to take, and what that may mean.
If I could be arsed I'd try and find my post(s) from last year where I said that I thought Palace could be our last game at the Amex for a while, which was met with cries of "don't be ridiculous".

Well obviously it is a guess just like "I'm not going to be the president of the United States" is a guess.
I think there is a 99% chance the PL wont be suspended and it has little to do with Omicron and a lot to do with PL. I think the show will go on regardless of how many are dying per day and how many in the hospitals.
I read those posts only days ago when I read the first 300 pages in the main covid thread. I agreed at the time (or to be more specific I said there was no chance of the Arsenal game happening) but some things have changed since then. If you say "Spurs/Wolves will probably be the last time in a while where the public are allowed to go to Amex", I wouldnt dare to bet against you. But suspension of the league? No, very very unlikely as I see it.

There is a perfect storm developing in football. A virus that is spreading quicker at a time when more matches are being played. I think the Premier League will take it case by case but there is already much more around now than there was even a week ago and I can only see this continuing to escalate further. Once you postpone one it will snowball after that. Whether they suspend the whole league for a couple of weeks or not there is definitely going to be a fixture problem soon. And that is without taking account of any other impacts such as weather. - see more snow tomorrow thread 
Agreed, I think the passports thing will prove to be too difficult logistically. Then the following will probably happen in this order (not necessarily all of them) until things improve;
- Reduced matchday attendance (50% and no away fans)
- Severely reduced matchday attendance (think Man City H last term)
- Behind closed doors
- League suspended
I think the last option is hugely unlikely TBH given where we are, the three above it though? Not unthinkable.

Please note: I'm not saying it will be suspended, but I'm saying it's not the impossibility you stated before you changed your mind inside half an hour.
The PL made it clear last time they could not be tone deaf when the country was suffering so badly, and I don't see why that will have changed, should Omicron turn things into a shit-show again.
The other possible trigger point for suspension would be if multiple squads are decimated by infection all at once, rendering the competition farcical. Again, I'm not saying it will happen, but I wouldn't rule it out.
