Shocking generalisation there - Im sure there are some fine Spurs fans out there, but last night I was out in a pub in Enfield (predominantly Spurs area) - couple of spurs fans in the corner, singing:

"Sol Campbell - Ooooh ooooh - Sol Campbell - Ooooh ooooh
We know your fathers dead - we wish it was you instead"

Disgusted was not the word - I had a word with one of them at the bar and he assumed I was Arsenal and started getting aggro.

Off the top of my head, I think thats the most offended Ive been in a "football" context

So if you see a Spurs fan today, give em a slap from me!

Lighten up, it was two guys, not 37,000.

And that's sad news for Campbell, but there's no denying he's still a **** for joining Arsenal.

Fair point - still pissed me off!

As for him being a **** - he made a career move and is now part of one of the top three teams in the UK as opposed to a standout player amongst a mish mash of no hopers (excluding Bobby - natch!)

Sorry but I cant stand Spurs at the best of times...

Yep sorry to dissapoint you Faldo but when it comes to Mr Judas Spurs fans hate the bloke and it may have been only two not 37k but it is something that a large minority of Spurs fans would sing much like the 'whose that lying on the runway' song regarding Man U.

Football supporters can be pretty nasty no great shock there for me.

Fair points.

I was born in Enfield, so I know the effect that transfer had in that part of the world. Campbell, however, could also have joined Barcelona, Real Madrid or Man Utd, better career moves IMHO...

True - I remember the runways songs - nasty...

To look at it another way - other fans might thinks its harsh that we sing a song about setting fire to our ex-chairman.

Dandyman

In London village.
The song might be a bit harsh, but Campbell is a two faced c**t.

He could have joined any club he wanted to, but decided to join the Woolwich wanderers to keep his boyfriend happy (allegedly).

So by that rationale you would fully understand if Danny Cullip where to piss off to Crystal Palace next week as they are in a much better position as us and at the moment he stands out against a bunch of no hopers.

No IMHO Campbell was well out of order when quitting spurs and should get as much grief as the spurs fans can throw at him (although the original song quoted in this thread was well below the belt).

Indeed - if that were to happen (touch wood DC stays put) I would hurl plenty of abuse - such is the fickle world of a footy supporter!

BUT - I wouldn't sing that kind of song at him...

Agree with the earlier post saying it was only a couple. Iwent to theFiddlers Elbow for the England v Turkey match. There were loads of Albion fans there, and they were an embarrassment with some of the things they said about the Turkish players.

I think that even without the 'pub incident' it can safely be assumed that Spurs fans are THE scum of the earth, no other set of fans comes close in my book.

if fans are in uproar about this song (admittedly deplorable) about sol campbells dad, then how do the jewish spurs fans cope with arsenal, chelsea, leeds etc all singing sings about spurs being on their way to auschwitz? or hissing like a gas chamber? hilarious. not.
the truth is that fans bring up some hideous things, and spurs are by no means the worst. seems strange to say that spurs are the worst in the land for one song about one dead man sung by two people.
everton fans shouting 'niggerpool' in the 80s?
leeds/city/whoever singing 'always check on the runway for ice'?
millwall for singing about harry roberts killing coppers?
come on man, theres idiots everywhere

That is true. The worse songs I have ever heard were at Elland Rd.

They think they are a big club but they havent won f'all for 40 'kin years! I hate them.

When scum takes a bath it leaves behind a thick ring of spurs when the bath drains......

I probably heard the same sort of thing in the Shark bar.
Didnt see anything wrong with it though
