I got pulled by the Old bill for doing 33 in a 30 area. When I asked if he was having a laugh he said "Do I look like it Slow Down"

What I wanted to know was how can they no how fast im going when they were only following me for around 100 meters. Any ideas.

Speed guns are pretty instant in sending back a speed and they can do this from quite a distance, too.

It was 2 officers in an unmarked behind me saw them pull up behind me at some lights then 100 meters up the road blues and twos on. I didnt get points or fine but for him to say I pulled you for going @ 33mph left me feeling like Wow how did you know.

They could have just been following you and using their speedometer as a reading for your speed if maintaining a constant distance from yourself.

But is anyone on this thread actually complaining or trying to shift blame? It's blindingly obvious that it's your fault if you get a speeding fine. I just think a few question the placement of the cameras and just how much it has to do with raising safety awareness rather than raising money.

Not on here, but plenty still do, the same with traffic wardens. As if they have done nothing wrong, when clearly they have!

And what does it matter where the cameras are placed? If there are in a 30 zone, by law, you should be driving at 30. 40 in a 40, etc, etc. And, as I said before, they are only going to make money if people break the speed limit.

I reckon its near enough impossible to go through life nowadays without breaking the law on a regular basis.

And surely somebody paying attention to the road at 35mph has more chance of avoiding a child in the road than someone staring at their speedo at 29mph?

Are you referring to sticking to speed limits or just life in general?

And surely somebody paying attention to the road at 35mph has more chance of avoiding a child in the road than someone staring at their speedo at 29mph?

What about paying attention to the road at 29mph, or is it only possible to do that at over 30mph?

Not sure about avoiding one, but I think someone has more chance of seriously injuring a child at 35mph than at 29mph...
