...was at Reading vs Sunderland last night (along with Hoddle, Strachan, and Wilkins).

Up in the Directors box. What do you reckon?

McGhee and Strachan are best buddies. Not sure Hoddle has any friends though

Or maybe they were all there for different reasons but all got put in the Directors box together?

There's usually a gantry where any visiting scouts/managers go and often they're together.

I know that Hoddle lives locally still, not sure about Strachan. McGhee used to live opposite our training ground until last year, not sure if he's moved to Brighton though?

No you're right Wilts, it's a conspiracy. McGhee is being sounded out about leaving Brighton and managing Reading and Sunderland AT THE SAME TIME! It's going to be a new fad, saves all that nonsense about trying to guess the other team's tactics etc. In return we get Strachan and Hoddle - but they will manage alternate weeks, so one week we'll be flamboyant and crap and thed next week we'll be boring and crap.

There.

Just leaving the conspiracy thoery aside for a moment, I'd be interested to know why McGhee wasn't at Loftus Road last night if he fancied watching a game. We've got QPR and Sheff Utd coming up soon, before either of the other two.

Well fair enough then all! Perhaps just me being a :jester:

Thought there may be a chance to scout players (RFC or Sunderland ones)... I'm pretty sure that in their current state of affairs there are plenty of Sunderland players that (a) don't want to be there, and (b) Sunderland may not want them in their team either even though they're good enough for Div 1.

Well I just thought you may like to know the whereabouts of your manager  - another "interesting" story this time next week...

Owusu (hardly plays though got 20 mins last night)
Kevin Kyle (he is woeful though and I imagine expensive)

No idea... Sunderland have some half decent players that don't seem to get anything more than 20 minutes when coming off the bench...

Amused to see that Coppell is complaining that his squad is too small.

Think he needs reminding he's still at Reading - not Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge.

I'm wondering why Coppell only thinks we have 17 professionals? Last time I looked we had 25

No, McGhee would have sent Bob Booker to West London on his own. Read Charlie Oatways column in the Preston program for the reason why ! In fact, Charlie probably blagged a free ticket for the 'Loft as well !

Anyway, would you want to share a directors lounge with Neil Warnock, c'mon would you ?

Was thinking Mcghee may have been trying to get a look at Owusu and Goater (both of whom were on the bench last night). One of those must be surplus to requirements for Reading and both are the sort of target man that Mcghee is looking to bring in...
