I've been to Spearmints and a couple of clubs out in Germany with varying degrees of quality. All of them, without exception were tacky, unenjoyable wastes of time and money. I know some peole enjoy them and fair enough but the only peole I saw that looked like they were having fun were twenty-something loudmouths from oop north and twice divorced 40 year olds who still enjoy coke and revelling in the fake idea that these slags find them attractive.

:yahoo: top quality post - spot on!

There was a great documentary on a few years ago about the fight that went on between Stringfellows and Spearmint Rhino in London's West End.

A shame it was only shown on London (I think), because it would have raised a bit of interest on here.

Spearmint Rhino in London is very strategically placed on Tottenham Court Road, because I understand it is just over the border under the control of Camden.

Stringfellows is under the control of Westminster.

The point ? Well I understand it has something to do with each respective councils guidelines of er... the display of downstairs lady bits.

Spearmint Rhino positioned themselves very cleverly to take advantage of Camden loosely controls of the display of downstairs lady bits as opposed to Westminster stricture regime.

What followed was a very funny series of dirty tricks and counter claims.

I can't remember the exact details, but a local residents association appeared complaining about one of the clubs, which may or may not have actually been under control of the other club.

They should really repeat it, it was a classic.

Part of my stag do was at the one on Tottenham Court Road 8 years ago. Thank God my mates paid for everything, bloody expensive, i.e. £20 for a jug of orange juice to go with the £80 jug of vodka. Fit birds though (mainly eastern european) and it does feel fairly classy once your inside, nice bit of pole dancing on the main stage, private dances they get everything off but its only really worth it if you get a second dance - thats when they start gyrating their lady bits in front of your face. But its cost you £40 to get to that stage. Think between eight of us we spent about £1500 in there. When you get home you think, what a fuckin' waste of money, but maybe its something everyone has to do once.
