Shocking news, I suppose the amount of concern showed by the officials at the match suggested that it was obviously a serious incident from very early on.
Obviously I'm no doctor.. but is it possible that he should have been stretchered off rather than allowed to walk? could the slightest strain have triggered his relapse?
Would be ironic and sad if not using a stretcher may have caused harm, when any player these days who fancies a tumble has to be carried off.

Yes, but they probably just thought it was exhaustion / dehydration when he went down, they don't exactly do ECGs for MI's / AF on the pitch.
