What building was in the second picture?
The old library.
It's not a bad place to live - I'm in my sixth year here.
As one ages a quieter place is normally what one seeks.
There are worst places.
The old library.
Is MOD Southwick Park in the vicinity?
I guess the new library must be on the same site? The photo must have been taken from Southdown Road?
Combined with doctors surgery
Pompey fella.
Indeed. Dr Tim Buck (too) ex-club doctor was there - Manor Practice - he injected a steroid into my plantar fasciitis.
Ouch
That'd be The Ship - lots of ex-naval guys there.
Or The Schooner depending which side of the station.

That's the one. To be honest only went in there a few times. Not even sure if it still exists.
Worked there for about five years before 2000 and yes pretty normal but no more so than other coastal towns along that strip. Cricketers is an ok pub but preferred the one nearer the station the name of which I can't remember. Shopping bit is dull but serves its purpose.
