Are the soldiers normal too? :salute:

it's certainly not an unpleasant town though- I think a lot of people have a skewed view based on the pretty grim view of it that you get from the coast road but anything north of the train line is alright

I guess that's what makes it normal

It's not a bad place to live - I'm in my sixth year here.

As one ages a quieter place is normally what one seeks.

There are worst places.

Worked there for about five years before 2000 and yes pretty normal but no more so than other coastal towns along that strip. Cricketers is an ok pub but preferred the one nearer the station the name of which I can't remember. Shopping bit is dull but serves its purpose.

I got the train today from hove to Portsmouth & back (for court appearance - I'm witness to unfortunate event I wasn't involved in - before you jump to conclusions).

Anyway. Different clientele on that route (compared to my usual commuter trains to/from London)

That'd be The Ship - lots of ex-naval guys there.

A few bin fires in the Co-Op and an annual visit treat from our traveller friends to The Green. Aside from that it's very normal, apparently.
