Do you know if all industrial action stopped this minute there is so much bad feeling between staff and management as well as being so short of staff as they've left rather than work for SASTA it would take years to rectify. Unless Horton and co were booted out and DOR given SASTA to run with proper managers able to engage and run a railway for the benefit of the passengers, then as in football the new managers bounce might go someway to changing things

Yep this. Plus lets take things further and the GTR court action is successful and therefore they cant strike...the drivers can still VOLUNTARILY work to rule (as opposed to being directed by their union) and GTR cant do anything about it so the same shit service will still remain.

The train drivers' union is to suspend industrial action on Southern Railway ahead of fresh talks aimed at resolving a bitter dispute over driver-only trains.

The two sides will meet on Wednesday under the joint chairmanship of TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady and Andy Meadows, HR director of rail firm Abellio.

Aslef said it has agreed to suspend three days of strikes scheduled for next week.

But will reinstate them immediately if SASTA start messing them about , also OT ban suspended pending worthwhile talks

Can you imagine this man walking through the train saying "tickets please"? No way he would be employed as a guard looking like that. A narcissistic ******** at best.

If Lucius Malfoy asked me for a ticket I'd show him.. You only have to look at how he treated Dobby to realise he wouldn't take any crap from anyone.

Maybe that's the answer. Death Eaters on all trains?

Does that mean Gatwick Express will start running to and from Brighton again?

Wednesday patently going to end in the traditional :flounce: by both sides then, on account of there being zero by way of common ground.

its never been entirely clear why this service was affected in the first place.

It's clearly political on Southern's part in my opinion. There will be 36 GEX drivers rostered to work each day at Victoria (to cover services every 15 minutes) With the half-hourly service introduced there will be drivers sat on their arses drinking coffee some going home having not done a thing all shift. It takes 4 circuits (in whatever formation - 4,8, or 12-cars)you need 7 to run every 15 minutes by the way, so there will be spare carriages available sat at the depot also doing nothing. There is absolutely no reason why Southern could not run the GEX to and from Brighton half-hourly every strike day. That they dont says everything
