Dont understand why people are saying Southend had good Support. They obviously didnt sell their allocation, as there were quite a few empty seats. We allways sell out up there. I dont remember them singing a song either! even when they scored.

And I seriously doubt you'd sell out at our place if the away stand was a good 50 feet from the goal line, and offered arguably the worst view in league football.

Not being funny, but i thought they're support was better than the majority of ours, the were fairly loud, and there weren't "Quite a few empty seats" there were a few... not lots. Wycombe were worse, walsall (from wat i remember) were worse and Stockport (again from what i hear since i wasn't there) were virtually non-exsistant. The problem with Sarfend fans, is that, as a population, should be culled, post haste, because they're all tossers.

Wycombe made an aweful lot more noise, and took similar numbers, walsall aswell made more noise, they took a decent number but just sat there quietly 98% of the the game

They did that moronic YELLOW chant at one point, I suppose that could be construed as a song.

I still don't think Sarfend were technically bad supporters. Better than our majority. And we're the home team o_O The reason they are shit fans, is because they're essex inbreds.

Yes, I have, and yes, the view at withdean is considerably worse.

Did you go to the match yesterday HB? Away end? How do you think the match went, Shrimpers deserve all three points? It's funny watching the tiny away stand, it is awful I agree.

I'm asking because I wasn't there and I'm always interested in the other side's view (unless they're Palarse then they can go and get f***ed :US:)

ANYONE that comes down to that SHIT stand, whether they travel for an hour, or five, in my opinion are good fans.

Exactly. I'll never criticise the away support at Withdean when they have such a shit stand - I'm suprised people bother coming to the match at all.

Southend weren't the noisiest we've seen but they certainly weren't the quietest, and can you imagine how difficult it is to get an atmosphere going in that stand? Even feeling part of the game must be hard work.

Ive noticed that Southend are getting bigger crowds than us these days. A sign of just how far we have fallen and should have the head of the Albion's marketing department looking in the mirror, and his boss asking him to look for another job.

I'll be honest, you get very little concept of play from the away end, so can't really offer too much insight into individual player performaces! The first half was pretty open and both sides were certainly punished for some poor defending. What Mvoto was doing for your second, I'll never know! But you certainly had the better of it in the second half, and I would have been happy with a point with 20 minutes to go.

Still, two seasons ago we had the better of it at Withdean, and your guys nicked a winner in the 90th to make it 3-2. So it's all swings and roundabouts I guess. I'm already looking forward to the return fixture, matches between us are rarely dull :)

basically i was just comparing them to our away fans. i agree our home support is pretty shit apart from block h that actually try and create an atmosphere.
