To anyone in the vast Albion army who travelled.

How did you react to the Solly screamer, what were the scenes like?

The erupting Albion end looked fkn amazing on TV.
Mental. But it was also a little bit disbelieving. Lots of turning round to neighbours to ask if the Christmas miracle was real. The player pile-on was great and scenes at the end with the Solly theme tune and him almost looking a bit shy were equally good.

Playing arsenal without both Moises and MacAllister is a bummer . Won’t be a true test of ourselves
True. But It will give Gilmour a chance to show what he’s capable of.

And forgetting about fkn VAR?

I normally go wild, then check 30 seconds later.

Great day out. Good, ultimately comfortable win, 3 points, so pleased for Solly with MOTM and a worldie, good away following with a large amount of pisstaking and an easy drive home. Happy days :albion2:

Southampton are doomed. They’re awful - Jonesy seemed clueless to do anything about it too, particularly in the first half. Ah well

There was no doubt about that one. Wallop. The first two were both weird though. I had no idea how either of them had gone in until I saw the highlights.
Well over 100m away, it’s no wonder.

From the Amex NS, we often don’t know what exactly happened in the SS box until the giant screens show it. Just hoping for a rippling of the ‘onion bag’ with an Albion goal.

Some of the play was amazing, one touch football.
Shame that Trossard didn’t seem bothered, Ferguson showed more in his short time on the pitch than Leo did when he was on.

Screen is a good point - the one at Saints is absolutely useless. They just keep showing ads all the time, couldn’t even work out who had been subbed on/off (for them) because it wasn’t shown, and the lineups only appeared sporadically. JD Sports have a sale on though, apparently

Everton, West Ham and Forest would be my (realistic) dream trio dropping.

“Nathan Jones to ‘work religiously’ on Southampton’s issues”

Think it will take more than a few prays tbh

Don't agree. Played a role for the team today. Didn't have wonderful control in tight spaces, but he was always in tight spaces because he was taking defenders away from March and Mitoma. He did his job. and he'll get better the fainter the memory of that poisonous Belgium set up becomes.
Why do so few people understand that!

Not sure he wasn't bothered. Generally hadls a face like a slapped arse when things are going well. I think he gets lost up front on his own.

Totally agree on Ferguson though. Properly gave their CB's the heeby geebies and did two thunderous sounding blocks on clearances at the end which always gets a cheer. Never really seen him up close before. He's quite the unit.

DT picking up on one of the many afternoon highlights

The final 3-1 scoreline was, if anything, generous to a Southampton side who were 3-0 down within 56 minutes and are now rock bottom of the Premier League. As well as pointing out that the “South Coast is ours”, fans of Brighton gleefully chanted, “We want our ball back” on the rare occasions that they did lose possession, with further salt rubbed in Southampton’s gaping wounds by the sight of former captain Adam Lallana scoring the opening goal.

Some of the best football I've ever seen from an Albion side at times in that first half.

Glimmers of world class stuff that Man City etc would be proud of.

Not a perfect performance though. Still room for improvement. But whatever we did in that Spain training camp is very impressive.
Hoddle said as much. "If u put a light blue shirt on this Brighton team, you would have thought you were watching Man City"

We were brilliant. Southampton look doomed.

Pascal effortlessly played an Alexis M game. Solly deserved Mom but it was a complete team performance. Sanchez taking no prisoners was a bonus.
