The short stop in my softball team is married to the sister of the Argyle Captain. Met him at their wedding.

Disagree on this. A later KO would impossible for Plymouth fans to get back by public transport. Yes, they'd have to take the afternoon off to get there but they'd have to for a 7.30 KO. And Southampton fans in the area would be able to get there after work, so wouldn't need to take time off. I'm sure that commuters would have problems but many do take time off in Christmas week. I think it's quite a decent KO time
Bus replacement service for part of the journey from Southampton. Only one option to get back at 00:29 and that's the 20:35 so better hope for limited additional time, and a quick getaway from the ground and a quick walk to make the bus.

Im not working and so arent many thousands of others as Saints report match nearly sold out. Doubt a couple hours earlier will make that much difference to away fans. Getting away from St Mary's is much easier than most PL/big grounds and certainly better than the Amex. Ideally situated in the middle of the City. PA fans will be home by 9pm! Anyway thanks for the heads up I may watch this later.
Indeed Plymouth fans who travel away are a hardened bunch and coming from such an out of the way part of the country, Brizzle City and Cardiff apart, Southampton must feel pretty much like a local derby to them!

I’m not sure you have any idea where Plymouth is!

Its a 4 hour drive from Southampton to Plymouth, and the game won’t finish until 8pm
Assuming turnstiles open 2 hours before, get in at 4, pie, pint and program, hear team news at 5, brisk jog to car and it’s doable, not enjoyable but doable

If us, Villa, Liverpool and West Ham all stay in the competitions TV will stagger games 2 early / 2 late. All of us are seeded.

In the round of 16 it’s almost certain that 2 of us will get early kick offs as all 4 clubs will be playing at home on the same day.
