PS: The first penalty decision is definitely the worst one I have ever seen against the Albion as it was neither a foul and so far out of the box that there should be an inquiry. The referee seems to have lost the plot. Fonte should have been booked for diving.

The second penalty was a good call by the referee (an inch inside the box), but a silly foul as the Southampton player was falling over any way.

As my stream went for their first goal, I did not see Southampton breaching our back four before the referee changed the game.

Well you didn't look anything special today until your 12th man got involved and were playing against 10 men.

We were 1-0 up and dominating though. And you are conveniently forgetting the two stonewallers denied to us in the first half.

So us being top of the league (and winning 20 home games in a row) is a fluke then. OK.

I occasionally view this forum and as a sort of neutral at todays game (West Ham fan, brought up in Brighton but now living in Soton) but hoping for a brighton win, i thought Southampton deserved the win. Yes the pens are dubious, esp the first which i think was outside. Tarrico though has only himself to blame for getting sent off, he should know better with his experience etc. Also Saints could have had other pens and goals as well throughout the game.

I think Brighton put up a good fight til the sending off, but look weak attacking especially (No shots on target!!). Should have kept Murray!

I think anyone blaming the ref for the result obviously wasn't there.

I do think though Brighton will be fine in this league, there's many worse teams!

I didn't think either of your first half claims were penalties. Lambert is just a serial whinger/diver.

The only satisfaction from today's result is knowing that Southampton will choke and only finish up in the play offs and we'll be playing them next season.

According to Chaplow on Twitter - Tano was saying to him and Lallana that he had them in his pocket (you could clearly see him pointing to his pocket on the stream)

Of course he's a whinger, he's a Scouser! Diver? No. Nobody's ever claimed that before.

He is, however, top scorer in the league.

Ref gave wrong pens there were some stone wall pens that he didn't give and he gave the one's that weren't.

lol - well if it was the same commentator on the stream i watched he was very biased towards soton, he was obviously a fan as he came up with quite a few obscure facts about them, and thats without commentating on his views on the game which were so one sided it was a joke.

Stonewall pens? when? i didn't see one. Theere was a bit of holding onto each other by both players (never given in any game as 50-50) a blatent dive for the 2nd pen, one that was a foot outside the box, a dive by soton players because they knew they couldnt get to the ball who rightly got booked - but then i guess your view isn't biased. Or i'm guessing that with that ref you'd have expected a foul on the half way line to be given as a pen (as he was that bad)

Funny the commentator didn't mention Nav having his shirt pulled by a soton player in the box as a "definite penalty' to us eh? (which would have been harsh as would those so called pens he was on about for Soton) - just showed how he was only interested in Soton. He never made much of the fact the 2nd pen never was and how it cost us a player too and that the score line flattered Soton and another goal would have been very harsh (especially as the 2nd pen was a dive - no contact was his words) but he was keen for Soton to get a 4th.

I don't know what was worse, the poor decisions by the officials which cost us any chance of getting something from the game or that crap commentator.

The foul on lallana in second half and manhandling Lambert...

We weren't brilliant but we had more than enough to beat you. Over this season we have been fantastic, playing brilliant stuff that would not look out of place in the Premiership.
No complaints about the result, you were 1-0 up (good finish) when the referee went mental.....we're on a poor run of form but you looked equally inept until we imploded. Speak as I find.

You had a plan to play for a draw and in the first half it worked. I don't think we were inept at all, after all a game is 90 minutes long and so we may have been less effective in the first half but more than made up for it in the second. Anyway, every team has off days. The difference is that our off days like today (arguably) and Reading have yielded results. That's why we are top of the league and well clear of third.
