Looking forward to the next bout of the managerial merry go round featuring the usual variety of a) proven useless fkwits (Hughes, Pardew) and b) dull 4th-from-bottom merchants (Pulis, BFS)

Benitiz will have had enough soon and maybe if Wolves or ideally Palace slip into a shocking run of form, they'll go for someone who "knows the Premier league". Pardew would fit in a treat at Wolves with his high regard of himself being out of all proportion with his ablity, leaving Pulis to abandon Middlebrough's whinging fans to go to Palace (again). The crowning turd in the bog who then be BFS to Newcastle after their fans hounded him out a decade ago for having the temerity to not play about 4 wingers at once like King Kev and leaving them in a feeble 6th place in the table.

Markus Liebherr died and left the club to his daughter who wanted her money out so sold to the highest bidder. In that time Marco Cortese also left.

Not so.

Not sure what the split in ownership is, but Katharina Liebherr is still there.

She brought in the (Chinese) Gao family as 'partners' in 2017.

(Nicola) Cortese was HATED by the Saints fans, who rejoiced at his departure. He kept a tight ship though, however many enemies he made along the way.

They adored Cotese. Called him the Don and licked his arse like never before.

Must be a retrospective hatred if any hatred at all.

They sacked Puel just 17 months ago. That is looking clever now isn't it.

Sacked him because the fans felt he was too negative and boring. In his only season with them he got to the League Cup Final and finished 8th. Yes, 8th.

Let that sink in for a moment...1 season, finished 8th and reached a cup final. Sacked for being a bit too defensive.

Paul Doyle said "a victim of Southampton's admirably unreasonable expectations".

Take heed.

Makes me realise how lucky we are without a trigger-happy owner and sensible board.

We can only dream of such expectations!

Shame. They were definite relegation candidates with him. If they make the right choice with the next appointment they'll have a decent chance of steering clear of trouble. Bad day for Cardiff Huddersfield and Burnley who must now be the three favourites to go down.
