If it was at Brighton, I would have had to stay, my ST bus doesn’t leave until the game finishes and there’d be no way that I’d be standing out in the pouring rain at a bus stop.

Loads left. Southampton do not have a huge army of loyal supporters. They are poor. Bizarre thread IMO.

Bizzare post.

Loads stayed ( not me ) and were singing louder then the away fans right until the end. Always a good away support, so strange post from your self, in my opinion.

My lad’s work colleague stayed to the end, and reckons he was one of about 6,000 that did

This is the main reason why so many had to stay !

I was really p*ssed off enough at home to Bournemouth last season and I did leave just as the 5th went in.

Shipping 9 at home is something else - can't blame them if they did leave early- their team had clearly given up too

On TV they showed your stands half emptying half way through the first half. On stainsweb loads of posters openly omitted leaving, then posting comments from home, one bloke made it back to Bmuff mid match.

3rd for me, earliest I have ever left a game. No sure I had anything better to do but I am not fanatical enough to watch Bournemouth taking the piss.

I think I've only left early three times. The first was the second of the 4-0 demolitions by Brentford. I had flu, but was determined to go because I'd got a ticket. By 65 minutes, we were 4-0 down having played abysmally. I left, staggered to the station, and after fortunately only a short train journey back to Clapham Junction, crashed out in my flat. Needless to say, I went off sick the next day. The second time (sorry) was after Glenn scored for that lot, my excuse being that I had to drive to London that night (which didn't help, as I got stuck in roadworks on the M23; mind you there was a mass departure at that point). The third time was after the 6-0 stuffing at West Ham, when I thought that if the players couldn't be bothered, neither could I, and I thought I would get away early, as the Boleyn Ground was one of the worst to get away from (whatever one thinks of the London Stadium as a football ground, at least transport is a dream compared to many stadia). Usually I stay to the bitter end, and this included the 5-0s at Selhurst and against Bournemouth.

Funnily enough, the only time I have seen a 9-goal defeat wasn't in football. While I loved the 2012 London Olympics, I had the misfortune of seeing the Great Britain Men's hockey team hammered 9-2 by the Dutch, with loads of happy Dutch fans milling about afterwards. That certainly put a dampener on the evening.
