South Stand looks dreadful when mostly empty!

I highly doubt the prawn sandwich brigade would be keen to have away fans right above them, same as the families in ESL. The problem with the design of the Amex is, unlike at Cardiff where the corner blocks can hold around 2000, our stands are so shallow that we need to have about 4/5 blocks to hold 2000. Unless the away fans were housed in the West stand there will always be vast areas of empty seats for most games.

I'd be pretty annoyed as an STH in the WSU to be forced to swap one of the better views in the ground for being stuck behind one of the goals.

I would have put the away fans in the south end of the east stand, and the south east corner, only coming round the corner to the south stand when the away fans have a large following.

Both Derby and Middlesboro have moved the away fans from behind the goal to the corner.
Forest have also reduced the number of tickets to away fans as their fans said they wanted to sit behind the goal at that end.
I cannot understand the comment above about the WSU being a no go for visiting fans when we have given it already to the notorious Chelsea mob.
The south stand should be for home season ticket holders and potg with the away fans out of the way in WSU.
If there are any issues the fans can be held up there and home fans can continue on their way home unaffected.

Can't think of a ground I've been to as an away fan where the away fans are on the same side as the dugouts? Surely ESU in one corner would be appropriate? Obviously would be a challenge to separate the concourse etc as you wouldn't want the whole ESU for away fans, with 400 Bolton fans spread across! Don't think that part would be captured on TV too much either, mainly ESL.

Pretty much. A few empty areas predominantly in the southern part.

Sitting within the WSL, it was very patchy. Especially on the north and south edges, before the corners.

Bit hard for universities at this time of year, especially as they dont start until the middle of next month, though a Uni student offer, like the free drink offer a season or 2 ago, would be decent. An U25 price rate for match-by-match would be good as well. Not sure an unemployed rate would send out a good message though, the club isnt going to want an image of wanting to take money off those who dont work, even though it does happen.

Do you really think home fans want rowdy pissed up away fans above them FFS ?
Yes newcastle and sunderland may do it,but its ridiculous having away fans miles out the way.The east lower and part if the south is ideal.

The only time there is a whiff of an atmosphere at the Amex is when there is some banter with away fans. Absolutely no way should we be looking to nullify it. Our own North Stand need to really sort their act out. Utter disgrace really for our singing stand. I don't get why our more vocal fans don't move to the South to bounce off the away support to be honest.

Not sure if you have been in the West Upper but many of us regard it as THE stand at the Amex.

I think the best solution is to have the away fans in ESL. I think they did it a couple of times before. Against Barnsley I think when they brought about 200 or so. Give them the last block in ELS and corner if necessary. And can be a big divide between them and family stand.

I think its at Southampton where away fans are next to their singing section. Makes a good atmosphere! So vocal fans moving to south could be a good idea.

Anyway there was 1 guy behind the goal on Saturday who seemeed up for banter with the bolton lot. Running over to them when we scored
